Overview of SATS

SATS is proudly accredited as an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) for registered courses. We are also certified by Changi Airport Group as an Approved Training Centre (ATC).

On top of this, SATS works closely with various educational institutions in the air transport industry to nurture the next generation of workers. With over 65 years of expertise and armed with a team of experienced training instructors that are professionally certified under WSQ ACTA, we are offering the following programmes that aim to get you ready operationally: 

  1. WSQ Operate Forklift Course (WSQ subsidy available)
  2. Airfield Rules and Regulations Course (ARRC)
    1. Initial (No airport driving permit)
    2. Refresher (Expiring airport driving permit)

WSQ Operate Forklift

This is a specialised WSQ Level 1 course and candidate will attain a Statement of Attainment (SOA) in Operate Forklift in Manufacturing / Logistics Industry for Generic Manufacturing Skills WSQ after successfully completing the course.

For whom

This course aims to provide people already working or wishing to enter the generic manufacturing industry with the skills and knowledge required to operate forklift. The course would be appropriate for people with job titles such as Forklift Driver, Warehouse Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, Transport Operator, Logistics Coordinator, Dispatch Operator, etc.

Successful completion of this course is a requirement for individuals who want to operate the forklift.

Course overview

Learners will be able to acquire the skills and knowledge to safely operate forklift in the manufacturing / logistics industry in a WSQ Level 1 operation. 

This course includes the following elements (i.e. Learning Outcomes):

  1. Prepare to carry out forklift operations
  2. Inspect forklift
  3. Carry out forklift operations
  4. Reinstate and handover forklift

Mode of course: Instructor-led*, conducted in English only

* In event of exigencies, virtual learning will be offered as alternative for theory portion of course. Practical lessons will continue as in person.

Mode of assessment: Written & Practical Test

Please note that a competency-based assessment will be conducted at the end of the Theory and Practical segments respectively. 

Learners who pass the required assessment criteria will be deemed as 'Competent' and obtain a SOA from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Learners who fail to attain the required assessment criteria will be deemed as 'Not Yet Competent (NYC)'. 

Basic entry requirements

Learners are assumed to be:

  1. At least 18 years of age**
  2. Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit.
  3. Able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 3 or equivalent
  4. Able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3; and
  5. Able to process numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3
  6. Physically and mentally fit for the training without any handicaps.
  7. Able to interpret work instructions and technical information.
  8. Able to commit 100% attendance.

**Those 60 years and above must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness.

^Learners are required to wear their safety shoes/boots for practical lessons.

#This course is applicable for SkillsFuture Funding up to 70%. 

From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old) . Do note that the funding amount advised is not final and is subject to changes.

    3. Email PayNow receipt or proof of payment to Training Administrators.
    4. Confirmation for the course enrolment will be sent out via email.

    Important notes

    • Registration and payment must be made 3 days before course date.
    • Reschedule/change of course date is not allowed. Requests for changes will be deemed as course cancellation.
    • Applicant is to be punctual for course. Training provider will give 30-min grace after commencement of lesson. If applicant arrives more than 30 mins after commencement, he/she will be deemed as absent.
    • There will be no refund for any fees paid in the event that applicant is absent or cancels the training.
    • The Applicant agrees to follow all rules, security requirements and instructions of the Training Provider; otherwise the Applicant will be dropped out of course without any compensation or refund. Please refer to application form for complete terms & conditions.
