WSQ Operate Forklift

This is a specialised WSQ Level 1 course and candidate will attain a Statement of Attainment (SOA) in Operate Forklift in Manufacturing / Logistics Industry for Generic Manufacturing Skills WSQ after successfully completing the course.
For whom
This course aims to provide people already working or wishing to enter the generic manufacturing industry with the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift. The course would be appropriate for people with job titles such as Forklift Driver, Warehouse Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, Transport Operator, Logistics Coordinator, Dispatch Operator, etc.
Successful completion of this course is a requirement for individuals who want to operate a forklift.
Course overview
Learners will be able to acquire the skills and knowledge to safely operate a forklift in the manufacturing / logistics industry in a WSQ Level 1 operation.
This course includes the following elements (i.e. Learning Outcomes):
- Prepare to carry out forklift operations
- Inspect forklift
- Carry out forklift operations
- Reinstate and handover forklift
Mode of course: Instructor-led*, conducted in English only
* In event of exigencies, virtual learning will be offered as alternative for theory portion of course. Practical lessons will continue as in person.
Mode of assessment: Written & Practical Test
Please note that a competency-based assessment will be conducted at the end of the Theory and Practical segments respectively.
Learners who pass the required assessment criteria will be deemed as 'Competent' and obtain a SOA from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). Learners who fail to attain the required assessment criteria will be deemed as 'Not Yet Competent (NYC)'.

^Learners are required to wear their safety shoes/boots for practical lessons.
Basic entry requirements
Learners are assumed to be:
- At least 18 years of age**
- Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or Holders of valid employment pass / work permit.
- Able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 3 or equivalent.
- Able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3; and
- Able to process numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3
- Physically and mentally fit for the training without any handicaps.
- Able to interpret work instructions and technical information.
- Able to commit 100% attendance.
**Those 65 years and above must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness.

- From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses
- Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
- SATS Ltd. reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria

From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old) . Do note that the funding amount advised is not final and is subject to changes.
All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their $500 SkillsFuture Credit from the government to pay for a wide range of approved skills-related courses.
